I recently bought some dove soap and it was on special but it a lot more than regular soap. I like it because it is a smooth and creamy lather but I find that once I am out of the shower it does not really feel like the cream that I washed with in the shower. It fades rather quickly and I have had cheaper soaps that last a lot longer on my body
I have never really liked using Dove because it feels "slippery" on the skin. Like the soap's residue is still there even after you have rinsed it. So I never buy Dove, and I buy other brands.
I do agree that Dove soap always gives you that "slippery" feel after rinsing (and no matter how many times you rinse, it appears like it hasn't come off). When you're dry enough to touch your skin, though, the soap actually spares you from the sometimes tedious task of putting on lotion. Even when you scratch the surface, you won't see any scratch marks. That's the reason why Dove has that slippery effect. It's to make sure your skin retains its moisture throughout the day.
I'm not a big fan of dove soaps. They are too soft, lather too much and gets messy easily. I'm sure it's because of the extra moisturizer they put there, but I prefer harder soap bars that don't get soft and dissolving easily. I love glycerin soap bars, those that are transparent, not pasty.
I do not usually dove bar soap. I have bought the body wash and I liked that although it is pricey. I have been wanting to try making my own body wash from the bar soap but have not gotten around to that yet. I like Olay bar soap and body wash too. It does not dry my skin out. This too is expensive so I only get it when it is on sale and I have a coupon for it.
I have to say that I am a massive fan of Dove products usually. I have enjoyed their deodorant , their body washes, and their roll ons. They all smell really great. But their soap is one of the few products that I don’t like. Dove soap can be really drying to my skin, and they don''t always smell the best either.
I have tried a few soaps and I have to say that one of the best ones that I have tried are the Palmolive and lux as they are gentle, lathering and they don't leave you feeling dehydrated after a bath
I have never been a big fan of Dove soap. It seems to dissolve more quickly than some other cheaper brand soaps. I often buy some sort of cocoa butter generic brand soap, but my absolute favorite is Caress Daily Silk. I don't buy it often, but sometimes i catch it on sale at Walmart and I usually buy a few packs at a time.
As far as the Dove shower gels, or the other products, I find that they are not drying to my skin. I have also used the Dove body lotion in the past, and whilst moist and wonderful smelling at the time, it is also drying. Well, it is not drying, but the lotion itself dries on the skin pretty fast. It leaves skin smooth, but not as soft as one might want. Now I just use my african black soap for all of my soap needs.
I think Dove is a pretty good soap for the price. I like that you can usually get coupons for it. In terms of shampoos and conditioners, they are one of the brands that gets positive reviews everytime. That is something that I like about Dove. It can make a difference. I like their products.
I do find it dissolves a lot quicker than other soaps and I have to say that I have not tried the shampoo or conditioner. I thought I liked the soap but really have not enjoyed the fact that it does not really last too long and it does lather but very overated.
I don't usually use soap. However, when it comes to using soap, Dove is definitely my favorite one. I guess you all know the reasons why. It's pretty much simple to get If you have ever used Dove products. It's incredibly soft and leaves your hands very smooth after washing. Also, they usually smell good after I wash them with Dove. So, I recommend you try it If you never did this as of yet.
I'm not a fan of soap at all. I don't use it on my body, let alone on my face. Instead, I use a face wash for my face and a shower gel for my body. I grew up using soap, but as soon as I could afford to buy my own toiletries, I stopped using soap altogether. I can't really say what was the trigger, but I much, much prefer shower gel as it's so much easier to use. I've heard people sing the praises of Dove soap on their face, but I've always understood soap to be too harsh and drying on the face. So I just lay off it. I sometimes use it for my most delicate smalls that require hand washing, but that 's about it.
Dove soap was recommended by my Mom's doctor for my Mother has rather dry skin. I find that Walmart has the cheapest prices for Dove products. There are coupons in our Sunday newspaper ads that has coupons for Dove soaps from time to time. I clip it and use it before the expiration date and save a lot of money. I like the fragrances of the rose scent Dove soap the best. The creamiest is the cocoa butter one that's so luxurious and smells heavenly too. I like Dove soaps for to me it leaves your skin the softest.
As far as soaps go, Dove soap is fine; but I never use it on my face either. I prefer a fragrant shower gel to use as opposed to soap in the shower; so washing my hands is about the only time I use a regular soap. A friend gave me some hand made soap, and i prefer that to any other kind. She gave me one that smelled like honeysuckles and one that had the fragrance of magnolias. They were made with fresh goats milk, and they really made my skin soft and smooth when I used them.
@Happyflowerlady...oh yes, sometimes I'll use soap with some anti-bac properties to wash my hands. OMG the one given to you by your friend sounds like it smells heavenly! I remember a few years ago in the UK, I used to get some cute little heart shaped soaps that smelt divine, and you basically popped them in the drawer with your smalls and they made them smell gorgeous. I wish I could get them here, but I've never seen them. Maybe I'll see if BodyShop has something of that nature
Dove liquid soap always feels like I'm not able to rinse it all off of my skin, and their bar soap is extremely drying. I've found that it's not really worth the price at all to me.
I'm Dove soap user. I've used it for over 10 years now. I usually get it on sale and stock up on it. It's soft and gentle on my skin. I quite dry skin in the winter and Dove is gentle and moisturizes my skin. I find that it lasts quite long. I recently switched to a body wash and I find it much harsher on my skin although it does rinse off your skin cleanly. So in comparison I think I would stick with the Dove soap.
I think it could be a good product if you are not expecting it to be a moisturising soap as it does not soak into the skin. I found that soaps from the body shop have been fantastic with the moisturising and they smell so fresh too!
Well, I have been using Dove soap ever since. Other are correct here , it is good for the skin and it is recommended by most skin specialists these days.
