I have become quite disillusioned with Paypal. Only recently I discovered Paypal an extra 3-4% on funds received on top of the 10% eBay take. So you are losing 14% of the funds you receive on every item you sell. These fees build up and make it harder to make a profit or recoup money.

    What is the alternative?

I just received my latest eBay invoice of £45. These fees are really annoying, it must be a pain if you are a business seller. I have lost £45 in one month of 'casual' selling on eBay, only a few transactions.

I wish there was a genuine alternative to Paypal. Moneybookers have increased their charges as well. The customer is ripped off as usual.
