I have purchased many things from ebay because I can't buy stuff from amazon.com and the Canadian one really isn't up to par with the other sites. I find them really good and trustworthy because I have alway gotten my product delivered and they were always what was in the description. There was only one time that they didn't deliver but one quick dispute and I got my money back in less than 2 days and the seller was very kind about it. I would say that most people don't read the descriptions too much and then they complain about it later because it doesn't meet their expectations.
I love Ebay! I have been shopping on Ebay for years. I have had some issues with things not shipping or the item was flawed or not as described and Ebay has always swiftly handled the problem and refunded me my money. For the most part, sellers are honest and products are as described. I like to look on Ebay for hard to find items and I find I spend a lot of time searching Ebay through my Ebay mobile app. Also, I check Ebay first before I buy anything on other sites because often times I can find it on Ebay for a lot less.
I have been shopping on Ebay for 5 years. Before I buy anything I check the reviews. If they have bad reviews I read them before buying. I have bought nearly 50 things from Ebay and have only had issues I think 3 times. Which isn't bad I think. I see it no different than gambling with stuff you buy at the store. I mean I have had stuff broken or bad from Walmart and that I've bought in person.
It's important to read the description very well. As an eBay seller, I once listed an item and said honestly in the description that it didn't include the power cord. A customer did not read the description and freaked out because there was no power cord and opened a case against me. eBay found in my favor because I did write in the description that there was no power cord. Always read the item size, condition and what's included. Too many people are lazy about reading the descriptions.
Ebay is one of the only online places where I purchase item. They have great prices and you are protected guaranteed. I have never been ripped off by any Ebay users like I have with other online stores. I would say that Ebay is a very trustworthy site.
I love shopping on Ebay! We have been shopping and selling there for many years and we have never had any issues with the products we have purchased. It is important to research and look around to find the best deal. It is also a plus to see what kind of ratings a seller has and check out other peoples comments. That is very helpful as well. The only issue we have come across is shipping. You need to be careful on shipping costs. Although you may be getting a great price, the shipping can be outrageous which kind of evens things out and makes it not such a super great deal after all. Over al,l we are very pleased with Ebay and plan to do a lot of shopping in the future.
My Ebay account is over 10 years old with over 600 positive feedbacks. I have only had one bad transaction but Paypal covered me and I won the money back. You just have to be careful who you are buying from, it is a shame because I Feel the fees on Ebay are a bit high for the sellers. In some cases I have offered to collect and pay cash (I think this is against the ToS of Ebay) however even with my reputation people seem to just prefer to receive via paypal and get hit with the fees. I think Ebay needs some more competition to be able to drive those fees down a little.
When it comes to disputes involving sellers and buyers on eBay, the entire process is based on a formula. If you don't meet every criterion for a refund, then the seller wins the dispute. The same applies with the reverse situation, though. That's why you hear so many horror stories about eBay purchases and being unable to get a refund when a customer is ripped off or cheated. So eBay's customer service is only good when disputes work in your favor. When they don't, whether you're right or wrong, then it becomes a nightmare for many buyers.
