No, thank goodness. I have never had my PayPal account jacked. PayPal isn't the most user friendly company and I imagine it's a nightmare trying to get that mess fixed.
I'm very cautious about account involving money so whenever I recieve mails from paypal, I just login by typing the url in the browsers address to be safe and NOT clicking the links in the mail. Some people are just malicious that they send links in mail which isn't actually the real site, this in the end will get your account's password. So be careful of phishing as what they call it.
Fortunately nope, I haven't had my Paypal account hacked yet. The only way that you can get hacked is if someone knows your password, or if you unwittingly fell for a phishing email, so I think that its common sense that you should not click any links or answer any email asking for your personal account details under the guise of "verifying your identity".
Never. Does this happen often? I would be mega-screwed if someone hacked my paypal account. But my guess is that paypal would have to pack me us someway. I am, however, really careful when it comes to scams. I don't ever give out my passwords (a good practice to get into) unless I am 100% sure that 1) I initiated the transaction and 2) that it really, truly is the website I want to make a transaction with.
Fortunately, I never had my paypal account hacked ever. Been using it for two years and I never had any problem with it. I had some problems when it comes to transactions but one call would solve the problem. I had my Liberty Reserve account hacked though. Fortunately I only had $20 in there.
I had my Paypal account hacked 3 years ago. I thought something wasn't right with my transactions, I noticed random transactions which I couldn't account for. I let it pass a few times but as I noticed more I realised I was a victim of fraud. Paypal were great, they resolved the issue quickly and the money was returned.
Yes my husband has. PayPal was really great about calling him right away when they saw suspicious activity. PayPal sent my husband something he can plug into the computer some type of key thing with his information on it. We had to cancel the card that was linked to his PayPal. account.
I never had my Paypal account hacked and I had it for 4 yrs, and so far I never had any problems with missing money in my Paypal account. I think you have to make a long secure password for your account, so it will be hard for hackers to break into it.
Luckily I have not. I'm sure that can be devastating. PayPal has a new feature where when you log in, you hit the Send button and it sends a code via text to your cell phone. You have to enter this code to get into your PayPal account. It literally takes five seconds and keeps everyone out of your account.
Yes I've had my PayPal account hacked before but the worst of all, I had my bank account and credit card hacked as well. It was probably the worst thing to happen in my life. It was a HUGE hassle to get all my money back.
I've never had my PayPal account hacked but I used to get lots of phishing emails from people perpetrating as if they were PayPal. The email would always start out with, "Dear PayPal Customer" and a legitimate email from PayPal will have your PayPal user name instead of "PayPal Customer" .. Also, PayPal will never ask you to change your login information via email. These fake or phishing emails would have a link for unsuspecting people to click on, and change their PayPal password from that link because your account has been "compromised." In actuality, if you click on that link, which takes you to a page that looks like PayPal, and change your password, that is when your account will be compromised. A word of caution, as most of you already know, a legitimate online banking institution will always have "https" in the address bar instead of "http".. Any online bank will have the secure socket layer protocol in the address that starts with https:// ...
Thankfully no. I love PayPal. But I did have my bank account hacked a few weeks ago. A few hundred dollars was stolen.
Not so lucky for me a while back I had someone hack into my account and use for some sort of payday loan, I had to respond quickly, to the payday loan store.
If you've had your Paypal account before 2010, it's a good chance it may have been hacked. Remember, when Paypal first had these issues, they made a point to NOT tell the users.
Fortunately my Paypal account has never been hacked at least not to my knowledge. I do know that there have been occasions where someone has tried to hack into it. I have received emails telling me stuff like I ordered something that I know I didn't or there is something wrong with my account. The email would then go on to tell me to click on the link and enter my password. I know not to do this, if I question what is being said to me, and wonder if its true, I go to my actual account that I have book marked and don't press that link. It turns out that 99% of the time Paypal had nothing to do with these emails, in other words it was someone trying to get my log in information so they could hack into my account.
My sister's paypal was hacked before. She has a business which she uses Paypal as method of payment. What happened was, someone hacked her account to add a new bank account and transferred Paypal payments to that new account. I'm not really sure if she got her money back but I know she opened a paypal dispute. What I told her is to change her password that contains a mix of capital & small letters, numbers and special characters as these passwords are harder to decode.
I was really hesitant to open a paypal account. I've been perfectly happy to just have a bank account, but for some things, it's the only way to get paid. I still don't keep a balance in there. I'm glad to read most people haven't had any trouble.
I haven't had that happen either. I've been a verified Paypal-er, business account holder for 10 years. My experiences have been great and Paypal has backed me on many occasions. For instance when buyers say they haven't received an item I have sold, as long as I have obtained proof of delivery (which I do on everything I sell), then I am covered. Of course, one has to adhere to the rules and customer protection policies. Paypal is very good about disclosing these from the get-go.
No. I take some extra security measures when dealing with PayPal. I have received a couple of phishing emails faking the original ones, and to my surprise - They looked exactly like the ones PayPal sends. Always remember "PayPal always addresses you with your name in their mails"
