I know most people will reply with Pumpkin Pie, but every Thanksgiving my sister-in-law makes a divine Pumpkin Cheesecake. It's amazing and it always excites me around this time of the year. Our Thanksgiving is next year, so what's your favorite dessert? Do you make a dessert yourself or buy one from the store?
My favorite is the traditional pumpkin pie. My parents always make the standard apple and pumpkin pies, but they like to create their own whipped topping. That is definitely the best part! Typically, we make a dish, but not necessarily a dessert. My husband makes great sweet potato souffle, so that is usually what we bring over to my parent's house.
My favorite Thanksgiving dinner dessert is sweet potato pie. It's a long standing family tradition. My two favorite things about the holidays are cranberry sauce and sweet potato pie.
We have three choices of pie for Thanksgiving - pumpkin, sweet potato, and pecan. We have two choices of cake - chocolate or vanilla. And there is vanilla ice cream to go with any of the above. I like cold sweet potato pie with ice cream, but I love pumpkin pie outta the fridge. It's creamy and cool and the buttery crust just melts on your tongue. So yeah.
The pumpkin pie is always good, but my auntie's warm apple pie is simply to die for. Thanksgiving wouldn't be Thanksgiving without it.
To be honest my family rarely has desserts for Thanksgiving. If we do have desserts it is usually because my cousin made us cupcakes to eat, which aren't very thanksgiving related . I prefer the main course of Thanksgiving instead of dessert. Mashed potatoes and moist turkey with gravy on EVERYTHING!
I won't turn down a slice of pumpkin pie, but I really love pumpkin ice cream. That stuff is so addictive, and the local ice cream joints only seem to offer it once a year.
Banana pudding! I forgot about banana pudding. I always get requests to make it from my family, but I don't eat it. I prefer to focus on the sweet potato pie.
For sure hot pimpkin pie or sweet potato custard pie. Yummy. Just whip in some egg whites with the sweet potato mixture..
My favorite Thanksgiving desserts would have to be Cheesecake topped with fresh strawberries and cherries and traditional apple pie.
Well down south we eat Sweet Potato Pie instead of pumpkin pie. But I love dressing it's so good with cranberry sauce.
I love pies of all kinds - pumpkin, apple, cherry, any type! We usually have ice cream like vanilla and pumpkin pie ice cream with them. And then my mom also makes a sweet potato casserole every year, it's really delicious and very sweet tasting so I'd count it as a dessert. It has brown sugar and pecans on top, mmmm.
I love sweet potato pie, apple pie or pumkin pie. As long as I have one of those desserts i'm fine lol. I'm also a big fan of cranberry sauce. That stuff is so yummy. This year I may bake a pecan pie/pumpkin pie hybrid.
I have to say pumpkin pie, but it's only because that is the only time of the year I have it. I make it myself and have for the last several years. I like the other pies, too. They're so delicious and it's really the only time I indulge.
I actually usually pass on Thanksgiving dessert because I am just way too full from the meal. However, the pumpkin cheesecake sounds delicious. I have never had that before but I think I it may become my new favorite Thanksgiving desert. I am not a big pie fan but I do love cheesecake. I am going to have to find a good recipe for this.
This can have Ice Cream Pumpkin Pie—the most traditional sweet dish; Pumpkin Cake Roll, Pumpkin and Praline Pie, Ryan’s Famous Pumpkin Nut Bread and Apple Pie or Cranberry Desserts.
Strangely, my favorite Thanksgiving "dessert" is cranberry sauce (or more specifically, more cranberry sauce). I LOVE cranberry sauce, and as much as I hate to admit it, I prefer the stuff from the can. I love it with my turkey and dressing, and I love it all by itself after dinner. I am not nor will I ever be a fan of pumpkin pie - it's one of those things (and there are few) that I just don't like.
