When offering flowers do you take into consideration the usual meaning of each flower?
I remember wanting to buy my mother a rose bouquet for her birthday and it was an ordeal with the florist lady.
It couldn't be red roses because she said those mean passion, it couldn't be another color I picked because that was only for funerals, etc.
Do you give this any thought or do you just buy whatever you want?

I don't give thought to things like that, I think it's a little silly- just because one person decided that's what the flower represents doesn't really mean very much to me. I would only take that into consideration if the person I was buying the flowers for put stock into that kind of thing. Otherwise I just go with their preference or what I feel is best for the occasion.
