Only if it's a movie I really want to watch like Pirates of the Carribean, Avengers, Dragon Ball Z, and that's pretty much it. You can save lots of money around my area if you just wait a few months because right after the movie is released, you can purchase the DVD for around 25 dollars. You shouldn't buy it yet, though. I wait about 6 months and the price for the DVD drops a lot like 50 percent or sometimes more.
Movie tickets are getting exorbitant that people tend to watch tv instead. In this year of 2016, I have seen only 1 movie in the cinema and only because I have some friends in the production of that movie. Like some of the comments here, I just wait when the film is shown on tv. It is irritating to pay for a costly movie ticket only to see that the movie is corny.
I'm not much into new movies so I rarely go. Therefore, the high cost of tickets and whatnot doesn't bother me. For instance, if I do manage to go, then it's probably to see a movie I really like. In other words, it's a festive occasion where I don't mind paying a lot for popcorn, drinks, and the ticket itself. However, note, I don't like the presence of commercials at movie theaters because I feel with such a high price, there is no justification for them except greed.
There was a time when I used to go to the theaters every time a "big" movie was released. By big I mean the movies that are made by well known filmmakers and feature big stars. Every month I used to watch 1-2 movies in the theaters. However, these days, I don't go to movies, I watch in home on TV or play a DVD. Going to movie is just a waste of money.
Now I go to the movie theartres at rare occasions since the prices are so high now. I usually go if the movie is an anticipated one or to go with family for a different experience out of the house. I prefer saving money by watching it at home and buying the DVD gives me the opportunity to watch it multiple times.
I know that the tickets for movie theaters have become very expensive. But, I still prefer to go to the theaters to watch movies. Although, only those who I really feel are worth watching. Otherwise, the TV is the best.
There is no doubt that movie theaters are very expensive these days. That is one reason I really appreciated getting a movie gift card a few weeks ago. I was able to go to the movies and it cost me very little. It was a total bonus as far as I was concerned. I really thought it was an amazing deal! I got it from taking surveys.
Going by the high cost of watching movies these days I have reduced the rate at which I visit the theatres. My main attraction to movie outside my home nowadays is when I am taking a friend out and on the process I'll just add a visit to the theatre. This is usually with a new friend
Well sure enough I went the other week, and it was just as I expected and just as I remembered. I ended up spending too much money, despite going in trying to cut back, and the movie was just not worth it. Sounds about right, and reminds me why I really do not care much for going.
I'm totally addicted to cinema (and when I say addicted, it's in the highest sense of the word ), so... Going to the movies is like a religion to me (no, I'm not exaggerating ). I get to go to the movies at least 3 to 5 times a month, or even more (depending on the movies that are on display in theaters). My friends often say I'm a little crazy, but I don't care.
