I was just seeing an advertisement for a job fair for deaf and hard of hearing individuals in Des Moines, Iowa, U.S.A and it got me to wondering if anyone out there has ever found a job using one of these type fairs? I know sometimes you need to pay a small fee to get in and sometimes they are free. Does anyone have any experience with job fairs? I have payed of a weekend seminar that also had a sort of job fair 'room' at the expo and everyone could pick up lots of different brochures and see displays of what their company did for people. It seems like a beneficial way to advertise and build up a client base.
I attended a couple of job fairs. It's best if you do a little homework ahead of time to find out which companies are going to be present. Also fine tune your job interests because sometimes there are various industries represented.
