I had not heard of this series before it aired in 2008, it is a very interesting plot. The government is at the core of people becoming ill and dying from an injection given to them by the government. Everyone had a tracking item put under their skin which allowed the government to know where everyone was 24/7, not a way I would want to live. The ending was very surprising and it made me think wow this can happen for real. If you get a moment take a look at this series. I saw it on Amazon Prime video.
