Over the last year Subway has been in the news because some customers was unsatisfied when the footlong subs did not measure up. Furthermore, they measured the subs and found it was a several inches short of the promised 12 inch length. Does this change your opinion of Subway? Would you stop going there as a result? My opinion personally hasn't changed. I really like Subway because they have a nice range of healthy food. I also don't feel ripped off because you can choose as many toppings as you like and that is more important to me than the actual bread length. But I can understand being frustrated when you don't receive what has been marketed to you.
My opinion hasn't changed.. it's a marketing genius, just as the others, only Subway claims to be healthy. Tragic.. sadly many people feel as you do, but healthy is the last thing I would call it. It's not even healthier than others the last time I looked. And fresh; not a chance lol.
I didn't even know that Subway was having this problem. I rarely eat there. I have drastically reduced my consumption of white bread. Whenever I do eat there (with friends), I always order a 6" turkey. Subway is a lot healthier than most other fast food chains like KFC, Wendy's, etc. So, my opinion of them hasn't really changed.
I agree subway is way healthier than the others. I hardly eat out but when I do I choose subway. I guess if they promise something they would have to deliver the goods.. this will affect they business. It may seem as if some people make a big deal about a couple of inches.. but that does matter to some folks who go their to get value for money. Personally I will continue to eat there because I still get to eat fresh veggies.
No. I have only been in Subway twice and I make a conscious decision not to go there because I don't like salad on my sandwiches and when I ask them not to put any salad on it they call the manager and there is a massive hoopla which gets quite embarrassing!
"Way healthier" isn't true. It's not possible for these places to feed you fresh foods guys. Those veggies don't come straight from a garden and the "meats" are sourced from all over the place. Sure, if you eat the smaller sizes and don't add anything else to it, you're keeping the calories down a bit, but you're still filling your bodies with TONS of crap hiding in those foods and the difference in calories from one place to another isn't enough to use the words healthy in any way. I just think this is one of the many many things that contribute to the obesity issues out there.. misinformed people sharing their thoughts and the wrong people justifying their bad habits because of it. These places didn't get where they are because of their honesty. There's no money in ethics. Eating this way is fine once in a while if that's you're thing, but there are unhealthy people listening and they're getting the wrong information.
Subway is pretty good, but I never really bought into their whole advertising, I just liked the food. I know what healthy food tastes like and it isn't as rich as those sandwiches, so I never really ate them under the pretense that they are healthier. It's just a better option to a Big Mac. So yeah, I'd still go because I only ever bought from them seldomly anyway.
It doesn't change my opinion at all I still like subway and it really don't matter to me cause I never get a 12 inch I stick to the 6 inch subs so i'm happy lol
I never buy from them anyway to be honest. Nothing is clearly labelled as being suitable for vegetarians or not. Basically, if I buy from them, I get a few pieces of salad in some bread. I could make the same thing much more cheaply by myself.
I never thought as Subway as a healthy alternative to fast food like they advertise. Although I still like their sandwiches, because of the fresh bread they use and I like their options you can put on the sandwich as well.
Ah, come on. The overall quality of the sandwiches in there are great! I don't like to order them very long, and if i am that hungry, i just get two with different ingredients instead, it's always better than a long one with the same stuff inside.
I still go to the nearest subway to eat. They have really tasty sandwiches and even if their snadwich is an inch short, look at the fillings its jam packed! Who wouldnt get a full stomach after eating their sandwiches. Its like you already have eaten a Big Mac at McDonalds.
I don't eat that much bread so I don't often have the urge to go to Subway. I also don't eat meat so there's not much on the menu there that appeals to me anyway. I'd much rather go someplace that has the serves kinds of foods I like to eat.
To me, who cares if it's actually 12 inches or 11 inches. It's still the same amount of food that it always has been. So the amount of food didn't change.
