I remember when they used to pay us for changing phone companies. The phone companies would send us a letter with a check, and if we cashed the check then our phone company was changed. I have gotten up to $100 to change my phone company. There wasn't even a limit as to how long we had to keep that particular phone company to get the money. every week or two my friends and family were changing phone services. It was great! Finally, the phone companies figured out that they were losing money and they do not do that anymore. I wish they did.
No, that's actually something that I just heard of now. I think that's a pretty desperate way to get customers, don't you think? I'm assuming that that happened during the time when cellphones aren't that popular yet and people had to depend on landlines for communication?
