I'm looking to save money by ditching my boiler insurance which is costing me around £16 a month - this includes an annual service and cost of any call out, parts and labour (I'm in the UK) My house insurance is due a renewal and I've noticed an extra of "Home Emergency Cover" which will cost around £60 per year. Apparently it covers any home emergency which includes boiler problems as well though it doesn't include an annual service and has a limit of £500 per claim. Has anybody had any experience with "Home Emergency Cover" so that I can determine whether it's a viable (and much cheaper) alternative to a dedicated boiler insurance?
