Most 5-star hotels here sell vouchers that is good for an overnight stay at 50% plus discounts on food and some other freebies. The only catch is that you pay the voucher in full. My wife buys a voucher once in a while and we use it for an overnight date. It is expensive to eat in the hotel’s restaurant but for half the price, I guess it is worth it. The voucher is valid for 1 year so you have the luxury to choose the date of the overnight stay. What we usually do is to invite nephews and nieces for a swim in the hotel’s pool and gym which are free courtesy of the voucher.
Well, that's surely worthy one. I haven't found anything like that here for now. May be in future here too they will start something like this. It is always good to have discount and 50% discount is big one as such hotels always have quite high price for food too. So yes it is quite good deal to have.
@naruto100 if you keep trying on makemytrip there is every chance that you will find many cheap deals. You will be surprised to note that I once found deal of the lifetime when I got a trip for two in a 3 star hotel for 3 nights and 4 days all inclusive for almost 30% cost for a trip to Shimla. The only downside was that the trip was in the month of August but we were lucky as it did not rain much during our trip. We paid for train fare of Shivalik express and rest of the trip was sponsored by MMT for only INR 1800/
That's really good one. Just few days back I have first time booked hotel using make my trip. It was good deal, at least I got it in cheap rates than direct booking. As I have confirmed the price too by calling directly on hotels. I wonder how they are providing cheap rates than direct booking. And yes I found the best deal form make my trip only in compare to other sites.
I have received many offers by Yatra.com and makemytrip in last few years and availed them too but the best offers come if you take them with your travel tickets. In fact, they offer these concessional price as the the hotels give them good offers and with their capacity of bringing good business for hotels they pay them cut for their efforts. It's better to book through agencies using their promo codes rather directly from hotels/airlines websites.
Yes, may be they offer good business to hotel, that's why they are offering more concession. Even I saw that make my trip was applying some kind of promo code that's why I got that discount. So yes it is better than direct booking for sure.
