How do you avoid identity theft

    I actually had never thought about how easy it is for someone to simply reach into my mailbox and take my information. :S I do check my credit report regularly and have a shredder, though.

    Id theft is so scary. A complete stranger can steal your life! Always get your mail asap and if you are going away for even a weekend, see if a trusted neighbor can bring in your mail for you. Always use a shredder on bills and credit card transactions. Never give your information out over the phone, there is no Prince of Nigeria people, never cash checks for people, use difficult passwords on your home computer, it's amazing what these people can do with technology. Id theft comes in so many different ways and shapes, it's getting scarier and scarier.
