My laptop display is broke as in the display no longer works. Is there such a thing as replacing the display alone? If there is, how much will it cost approximately?

If you have a computer monitor you should be able to hook your laptop up to that, look for the output display port on your laptop. This will vary depending on what type of laptop you have (DVI, D-sub, HDMI), once you find that out all you need to do is get a cable and plug one end in your laptop and the other in your monitor, you may need to get a cross-connector however if your laptop doesn't support the same display option as your monitor or vise versa.

I know I can plug in a monitor but I need to bring it everywhere for work purposes. Having to use a monitor for a laptop seems really impractical. Besides, I have a computer at home already. The laptop is the one I bring outside.

Well, it all depends on the model of the laptop. If you posted up the model then I could have probably gave you a more exact estimate. Though, from I've seen the cost should be $50-$150 depending on where you look.
