I took advantage of a New Year's deal to get my gym membership for $5/month, and I negotiated to cut the initiation fee in half. However, my gym is completely no frills - it doesn't even have a locker room! I know some people pay a lot for gyms, up to $100 a month for a facility that includes fitness classes, pool access, and more.

How much do you think you should pay for a gym membership? Are there any features that you absolutely must have in a gym?

    I'm paying 45$ a month.
This includes all access to the weight room, and all acess to every Martial Arts/Fitness classes.
My gym has no pool, sauna, or other stuff like that, but I don't really care.
I don't think I would be able to deal with having no locker room though...

Is that like a giant warehouse with just machines?

We were paying $85 per month, but that was for two adults and three kids. Childcare was also free and there was access to all classes and access to a pool as well. That is a pretty high price, but I have been a member of a gym that cost $75 per person before. In my opinion, it wasn't worth that much even though it was awesome.
