I have an eye for art but will not put my life's savings on that. I do have a few artefacts in my garden and in my house that adds a bit of class. I picked up a soft marble statue from Italy and picked up a wicker work goblet a large one from the roadside. It is exquisitely woven although by an unknown artist.
I can understand your sentiments very well because my husband is also an artist. He too gets that a lot! There are very few people who recognise the true worth of a well made drawing or a painting and even fewer who care enough to spend money on them. What people do not realise is that the world is a better place when surrounded with things of beauty and people have the ability to appreciate that beauty. Sadly, now people would spend a lot of money on expensive things that they don't really need but not on art.
