The Acer in Question has the Following Specs Name: Acer Aspire X3812 RAM: 2GB DDR2 HHD: 320 GB Processor: 2.6 GHz (Core 2 Duo) It has a funny plastic Power Button that has only worked for a few days (3 days to be precise). Whenever I Contact Acer's online support, I don't get any response. Any forum member with any knowledge about this type of computer help me know to power on this computer. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
The power button's connection to the motherboard (The circuit board that controls the main functions of the computer) may have been broken or disconnected. If you haven't dropped your computer recently, then the power button itself may be faulty. You might have to open up the computer yourself and replace the power button, or get it replaced. But, if you really need to turn on your computer, open up the computer and see where the power button connects to the computer. If you short the two pins of where it connects, you may be able to turn on the computer. Be careful with static electricity though - it can fry your computer.
