I buy my tickets for the Kapolei Consolidated Theaters at the Tesoro Gas Station, which is less than a mile away, for $3 off the box office price. The limitations? I cannot watch any movies that opened less than a week earlier. What that does is gives me a less crowded theater to relax and watch a movie in. Really it is a win-win situation. I would look into this kind of deal in your local area, because theaters are always looking to fill the seats after opening week, but it isn't like you can haggle with the person in the booth.
