My room mate and I just bought an infrared heater for $120 that is made to heat up to 1000 square feet. We hope it will heat our apartment sufficiently so we don't have to run our base boards at all this winter. Base board heat is so inefficient it literally doubles out electric bill or more to keep the temperature around 62 degrees inside. If this little heater works well, it should have itself paid for in 3 months I'm guessing. Have you ever used an infrared heater to save on your electric bill?
