I'm a woman, and for me, design is a factor when I choose my phone. Of course, if it turned out one phone was vastly superior to the other but a slight less aesthetically pleasing, then I'd go for the more superior phone; but if they were about equal, then it would come down to the design. A part of it is because I don't want a bulky phone, especially since I have small hands. I'm also stuck in the same situation as your husband since my current phone is starting to die on me. I'm leaning towards the iPhone because of its familiar iOS (which I use on my iPod Touch), and its smaller width, which allows me to hold the phone easier. However; all my guy friends have recommended the Samsung Galaxy S3 to me, which seems to correlate with your observation in the difference of male and female opinion. They all love that the S3 is powerful and has a big screen.
I hadn't opportunity to test the iPhone, but according to comments from friends and family has very good functionality. I have had experiences with the Android and honestly I can´t complain. Android has always a quick response and it´s practical for everything I've wanted to do with it. The applications generally work very well and is easy to use. Anyway, I think the iPhone has much to offer, and a large computer company that supports it. That tends to give confidence to users and makes them feel more comfortable. I would like to use one of these days.
We are not supposed to tell you what is the best phone for YOUR HUSBAND. It's up to him, to what need he has, what he would like to use his phone for. Iphone, besides, is only one, as far as I'm concerned. And there are loads of phones with Android, so he'll have to choose one of them (brand, colour, shape and so on). I'd choose Android because I'm using it and it let me change almost everything in my phone, the way it looks like, where is what - unlike iPhone.
Android. It's funny how Apple has people praising it for it's design sense and build quality, yet their fix for the iPhone 4's problems was a rubberband...a rubberband...shaking my head
The iphone has maintained it's same design and functions for a while now. I can't tell the difference between a 1st generation iphone or a 4th generation iphone. They all look the same to me, but Android has different model designs. They take risks and that's what I like about Android. All of their products look and function differently with each new model.
I'd go for an Android. They are fast and reliable. They have free GPS, and you can get any app for free, whereas in an iPhone you have to pay for most of the apps. paying for apps may be ok for the rich, but for middle-class such as myself, buying the phone is such a big bill, we can't afford to pay for things such as apps.
I will go for android without giving another thought. Android gives a sense of freedom to me. I can share anything with anyone having a bluetooth or wifi connectivity. I'm myself using an android phone, the huge number of apps that are available in Market always keeps things interesting. You can get an app for almost any purpose. Also the fun and interesting element comes when you try your hands on rooting, using root apps and flashing ROMs. It could be a little risky at first, but the things that you are able to experiment are worth the risk I use my android cell more like a linux based PC. It carries almost every task that I do on my system.
When I was asked which new phone I wanted, I immediately chose Android. Maybe it's just personal preference but I dislike the fact that most of the activity required from iphones revolves around that middle button. I can't even name that button myself. A back button? Menu? Options? Settings? Unlike Android, there's always a button for Home, Back, Menu, Search and other things. That was one of the key factors that made me choose Android. Interface wise, I too prefer Androids'. Though the smoothness and lag-free features might differ to each individual, I'm quite satisfied with my Android.
One of these days, I'm going to upgrade to smartphone. I would chose an Android over an iPhone. I like the flexibility and the freedom of Android. I'm also not too keen on some of Apple's business practices regarding the use of a product that people pay good money for.
I'm a big fan of Apple and I've been using iPhones for as long as i can remember. Of course, I've changed iPhone models and now i have iPhone 5s, I'm not planning to get iPhone 6 because i think there's not much new features or addition from iPHone 5s. Anyways, iPhones are really solid and reliable compared to Androids, i mean that's just my opinion.
It all comes down to how tech-savy he is. If he knows his way around tech then he should go for an android because those phones comes with a ton more customizable-features than the iPhone. If he's just looking for a phone and has the money then the iPhone should do the trick.
Go for Android. It's probably the best OS you can get on a phone in terms of the number of things you can do with it both hardware and software wise. I love IOS and Windows but Android just take the cake for me so I would suggest go for Android since you already have an iPhone
Well, iphone is easier to use and has a more nicer interface. Also it is pretty safe and doesn't allow you to do that many tweaks to OS without having to jailbreak it. It's easier and fancier for women. Men on the other hand value performance and power more than nice interfaces. Men do not like to trade memory or cpu power for more rounder edges or just a brand. Android is superior here because you can customize it way more than you can your iphone.
Buying an iPhone is a pretty big commitment if you ask me. You pay a pretty penny for it and then all your stuff is basically taken hostage and you can't really move it over to an android device if you don't like it later on. Besides the phone itself there are a lot of things that you have to get used to with the apps especially with itunes and other apple approved apps. I personally would go with an Android; they are a bit more affordable and 100x more functional (you can actually unlock an android easily without having to jailbreak it it and void your warranty).bYou can back up everything to a google account and switch it over to a new phone whenever you're ready. Plus there are so many of them that you can get what is right for you and not be stuck with what every other person with an iPhone has.
