Yes among all other types of food Chinese food is better. but as you know each type of food has some disadvantages if you eat in excees level. if it is taken in limit its good otherwise it is not healthy for your body. In Chinese food some of the items like noodles are not healthy for the body
Way to bump a year old thread. Chinese food can be greasy and oily, it all depends on what you are ordering. Fried rice and noodles are pretty oily and unhealthy, along with most sweet/sour sauces - they are laden with sugar. Go for white rice, or soup noodles instead, for a nice light meal.
I have a friend who used to own a Chinese Restaurant in the US. He and the other Asians I work with all eat very healthy, but not the fast food type of chinese food we see in restaurants. First, they eat rice with every meal--- even breakfast. I mean a lot of rice. My friend uses 25 pounds of rice in a month. Everything you can possibly do with rice, they do--including making candy-like desserts and ice cream. The one thing they do not seem to make out of rice is rice pudding. They even make rice paper that melts in your mouth. The rice acts as a filler which causes you to eat less. Second, they eat fruit constantly--especially after the meal. This assists in digestion. One thing Americans would frown on is the eating of fish/chicken heads and feet. One thing my Asian friend made was a sort of ice cream type of treat. They throw corn, canned milk, and ice into a blender. It has an interesting taste. Sometime they put tapioca and fruit in it as well. The "real" Asian food is much different than the fast food.
I believe that non-Chinese food is healthy too. Japanese food like sushi is healthy and tasty. Some Chinese food is not healthy as they claim like their deep fried dishes with lots of colouring. I like Chinese dishes because some dishes are unique. I believe we've got to be cautious in choosing the right dishes concerning our health.
Believe me, Chinese food has a lot of seasoning or MSG. Well, I am talking about the ones in restaurants. I think that Korean and Japanese food are the healthiest. Koreans and Japanese people eat a lot of vegetables and fish.
It's not what you eat, but how it's been cooked. Stir fried dishes are better for you, but in general the food can be healthy especially the soups. Some sauces can be rich and greasy, but if you cook it yourself you can tailor makes them. Like other foods, it has healthy dishes and ones that are not so healthy. The Chinese always have a lot of bok choi and green vegetables, though some places cover them in oil and sauces, you can ask them not to. I like the steamed dumplings which are healthy and the steamed buns.
A lot of people have the misconception that Chinese food is super oily and overall bad for you. However, if you have more authentic cuisine, you'll find that it tastes better and there is a lot more variety than chow mein or lo mein. It's really great, and if you ever have the opportunity to have real, authentic Chinese cuisine, it's a lot healthier for you and tastes pretty good, too.
