I have always wanted to have a horse and I was so happy to hear that a friend of mine who has lots of horses is trying to get 'rid' some of his horses by selling them but he said he could give me a huge discount if I really want one of them.

But when I thought about it again, my family and I have never had a horse and we have no idea of what kind of things need to be done (well of course we know about cleaning and feeding) in order to maintain it's health and fitness.

Do you have a horse? And what kind of things do you need to do everyday other than cleaning, feeding, and walking them?

Horses can be very expensive!! Food and hay alone may cost you $60-100 a month or more. Trimming and rehoofing may be tacked on, too, plus medical expenses.

Do you have a place on your own property to house the horse? Otherwise, you may need to pay a stable fee as well.
