Good to know I made the right choice. I was debating whether or not I should go for the more expensive ones even just to try them out but eventually we just went with the cheaper ones since we were just experimenting anyway and I really did find that you could utilize these cheap ones just fine and they last long too if you apply the right amount of heat and if you know how much oil to put or what types of food will end up destroying it etc.
Well, we have only had that experience with one or two, but I am guessing that they are all the same at the end of the day. When we were watching the sales ad on television that day - it may have been QVC or another shopper channel - we were all sat there saying that it was too good to be true. And then to come in this thread and discover that non-stick pans are toxic? We are not heavy cookers, and that expensive no stick pan that we used was marked and destroyed within the first week.
