I found a site where I can apply for a new copy of a birth certificate and stuff like that, but I'm wondering if there is a (faster and) cheaper way to get the records. Do you know of such sites? Would it better to visit an agency instead of going online? Have you had to collect any vital records or other documents recently? How did you go about it?

The site I referenced gives a small break if you purchase more than one copy, but I don't need more than one. Any ideas?

Try going directly to the state or county that you need the records from too see if the cost is less. I have gone directly to my birthplace to get my copies and the cost was better than going to someone that provides a service because they have their fee included when you purchase from them.
