In our office, it is the tradition to have a treat for the office mates on your birthday. It is usually a midafternoon snack of pizza. But in the recent years, I have noticed that my colleagues are making it economical by having a joint celebration of all birthday celebrants in the month. In other words, the treat is once in a month only and all the celebrants share in the expenses. Whew, that’s a big savings.
I really wouldn't want to save on celebrations. Instead, I'd rather save on day-to-day food. I simply think that celebrations are something that should be splurged on. I mean, why not? Oh, by the way - anyway - I don't think there are enough birthday celebrations in a month to make each one a big economic burden, honestly.
