Does anyone have any good tips for limescale removal? My shower head is partially blocked with scale and it refuses to move. Are there any household items that I can use to get rid of this or will I need to splash out on a specialist cleaner? All tips gratefully accepted!

If you take a ziplock baggie and fill it with baking soda and vinegar (pour vinegar in slowly it will bubble) then tie it onto your shower head and leave it overnight or for 3 hours. Then wipe it clean and it usually works pretty good.

I use limescale remover tablets from poundland. For shower heads I unscrew it and put it in a shallow basin of water with the limescale remover or if I have a gel one then I leave it on overnight, but use white vinegar to scrub away any surface limescale. For taps I douse a kitchen towel with the solution and wrap it around the tap area over night.

I also use the baking soda/vinegar trick. It's natural, it's homemade, I usually have the items at home, so can't go wrong with it.;) I can pull my shower head down so instead of a baggie, I can just pull it down and let it rest in the bowl overnight.

I use the baggie method, but I use Apple Cidar vinegar. It works much faster. Just don't leave vinegar for very long on stainless steel, as it can be corrosive. There is a cleaner on the market called "The Works" which is also very effective, but you cannot leave it on for more than one minute. It will really harm the finish on your chrome.

If it's quicker, then I'm trying with Apple Cider vinegar. I wouldnt use "The WOrks" because I tend to be forgetful and would hate to come back and see my shower head disintegrated. LOL;)

I have always just used vinegar, I've never added the baking soda, and it's been effective.
