I don't know anything about it, but it seems low or zero VOC paint would be the way to go, because I have animals, and the easiest thing would be to use something like this, and be able to isolate us or the room being painted, so I could refresh some of the wall paint. Of course, budget is a consideration, so I am interested in both quality and cost. Has anyone used low or zero VOC paint, and does anyone have a recommendation?
I tried it once but to be perfectly honest, the odor was just the same as if I'd used regular paint but had the back door and the windows open, if you get what I mean. Quality-wise, I didn't notice any difference at all.
Ugh. That's disappointing, thanks for letting me know. I was really hoping it'd be like in the commercials, where I could use it and not smell anything, and we'd all be o.k. breathing it in.
The quality isn't much different from traditional paint, but low VOC paint can be a healthier option because it removes some chemicals from the paint. It might not make a huge difference, but that peace of mind is always good, and perhaps there are long-term health benefits here.
