Make rag rugs

    Spring is here and that means rain and mud. Washing rubber backed rugs isn't good for them; they fade and fall apart with too much washing.

    Save old sheets and clothes that are too beat up to give to a thrift store. Tear them into strips. Braid the strips together. Sew more strips on as you come to the end of the material. Coil the braids and sew them together with some heavy duty thread. Just keep going until you have a rag rug the size you need to cover your entryway. You can find YouTube videos to walk you through the process.

    I have several of these rugs that I keep by the door during rainy seasons. I throw them in the wash and don't worry about them fading or falling apart because they really only cost me time and not $20 each.

    That sounds like fun! I used to save dated clothes with hopes they could be re-purposed. When I moved recently, I wished that I could have saved my sheets for this type of project.
