I never managed to get any transcription jobs, even if I have applied for a few companies. Also, from what I could understand the pay for transcription jobs is extremely low considering how time consuming it can be. More, similarly to translation, everyone wants to do it, so most companies can offer the rates they want.
If I omit one zero from the right hand side of that figure what OP has mentioned, then also it would be an impossible ask for me to achieve in a month. My experience of more than five years tells, if you're an international user and up to doing petty jobs which are open to everyone, you're in lurch. The wage and availability of such jobs are piteous. However, if someone has a special skill set along with an ability to clinch jobs from bidding sites, he/she might be able to make something decent.
Wow, I want to know what kind of online work yields a person $2K plus in earnings. That is unheard of unless you work with a major client that pays well. My earnings fluctuate each month depending on what kind of work I am doing. I really enjoy writing articles because I do learn a lot about many different things while doing my research. I complete surveys with a few different sites. Some of them pay me in gift cards, while others will send money to my PayPal account. I really like working on Mturk because there is a variety of things to do on there and you can earn a bit of extra money.
I think if $2000 is the target you should take up high paying jobs like transcription works. Transcription job is well paid but you should have good listening and comprehending skills. That is very important. Just remember if a site can give you good money the job is also not going to be that easy. As rightly said by @Log In if you plan to invest only 2-3 hours per day it is not going to be an easy target either. You need to invest more time and effort. Also at the same time you should avoid scam sites which may be quite tempting due to their unrealistic offers.
Making money online without the skills isn't a walk in the park. For 2000 dollars a month you would do a lot of jobs online to earn that. The biggest I got paid online was for a 3 week job, I got paid 150 dollars for 5 days. I earned 450 dollars for 3 weeks doing an article for each day and setting up my client's wordpress site. And I did that job for more than 4 hours everyday.
From all that I have heard, it seems as though people living in the US have the most successful time making money online. This is not to say at all that we are better at it, there are just more jobs for us to choose from. I find it kind of sad because there a lot of people in the world who could really use the money. Micro tasking and doing surveys are not going to yield you good money, you need to have a skill or trade and get clients who are willing to work with you through cyber space.
After much reading I already know that there are a multitude of possibilities that offer this type of financial gain. But it's very important look for some good references before trying something. However, without dedication and time, it's better not to start trying. Easy money doesn't exist and the gains will only be significant if there is a real commitment for the money to become real.
It is next to impossible to make $2,000 a day if you just depend on GTC/PTC sites. But if you are so daring enough to spend a huge sum of money, it is for sure you will be earning more than $2,000.00 a day. More money invested would yield more money in return but it is too risky. In case that investment fails, you will become an instant bankrupt. I would suggest that you should exert more efforts to earn a considerable sum of income per income but not to earn an instant big money. One solution is forex ventures by buying FX stocks.
While I can't say you can earn as much as a regular job would get you doing online tasks, there are things you can do online that can increase your income, but you shouldn't just rely on working online unless youre doing an actual job (artist/graphic design/etc). Like everyone else has said on this forum though, doing surveys, writing tasks, and other simple things like watching ad videos can get you a couple extra dollars if you try hard and do it constantly. I can't say how much you'd necessary make though, it varies depending on how much you do.
I do various things online such as survey sites, writing jobs, paid to post forums, writing reviews and simple tasks. My earnings combined monthly between gift cards and my paypal vary on how much time I spend online working. But, I can assure you, you can't solely live on it. I do it to supplement my husbands income.
I think it will be quite difficult to earn $2000 online on a regular basis, but it can be done if you have skills like programming where you can build new apps and earn from your existing programs. I've tried online working for a time to see if my earnings will match or come near my offline job. Sadly, I didn't even make half of what I used to earn in an office, even if I factor in savings in transportation, clothing, and time. However, if you simply want to supplement household income or your salary, there's no harm in trying out proven beermoney sites as well as content writing sites. They can all add up at the end of the month.
If you want to earn more than $2,000/month, I suggest you should learn how to create a website, and manage it. I'm a Freelancer and there are some clients looking for someone to build a website for them for $2,000 and up, plus maintenance every month. You may also want to study programming and learn a few languages as you can make tons of money out of it, like building an app for one
I am beginning to see that making 2000 to 4000 dollars online can be possible but you have to lay the solid platform online first. In fact if you know what to do online as it concerns earning you can fix how much you want to make a month. At the beginning you may not earn much but building links and getting a large base of referrals for passive income then your active work.
Making money online will never make you rich but it will give you a bit of extra pocket money. I am retired and do it more as a hobby so I don't expect to earn enough to live off. I belong to several earning sites, reward sites, call categorising and writing sites. I doubt whether I bring in more than $100 a month. $2000 is exceptionally high and I think you would have to have a specialised skill to earn that much online.
I too agree that making $2000 per month will be hard unless we are doing qualified jobs like web design or translation. With the typical survey and writing articles type of job is hard that we can get more than a few hundreds.
@to7update Other than web design or having a popular site of your own it's near impossible to make that amount, and as for translating or transcribing the number of workers for these two jobs have increased drastically while the market is lowering.
@Zero Yes, it's very very hard to get a paid translation job, but they do pay well. At the same time, I don't believe transcription pays at the same level, but it's equally hard to get such a job. I still think usertesting can give good money, if we join a lot of usertesting sites we can make a few hundreds easily, depending on our location.
@to7update In theory yes, scribie is a great example of a website that pays reasonably well since the price is 5$ per 6 min audio, but their rules are very strict and they aren't very lenient. As for user testing it seems that it's only available for English speakers.
