McDonald's Coffee

Well,that's certainly interesting. Thanks for the response. I would be lying if I said I didn't do the same thing when looking into what companies I give my business to. As a conservative with libertarian leanings, there a couple of companies I frequent such as Starbucks and Chipotle which are ran by people who are more left of center, and I don't mind that. Starbucks in particular treats their employees well and takes care of them, and they run a good business so I don't have a problem with supporting them. I'm not pro or anti McDonalds. I don't know much about their business practices or where they fall on the ideological spectrum.

 

I only ever tried McDonald's coffee once or twice, and although I didn't think it was bad, you would not see me going to McDonald's just for the coffee. I'll have it if it's free or if it's handy or convenient, but I would never stop by McDonald's for the coffee.

 

They have a pretty decent coffee, but you should be aware that if you go there just for that, you'll soon end up eating there as well. You just can't resist to the smell and the image of everyone having their good-tasting meals there.

 

McDonald's Coffee is definitely cheaper. I will not object myself to have a cup of their coffee occasionally. I do not like their hamburgers very much. It is unlikely that I will have it everyday. I prefer Starbucks much more because I can have a much wider variety of choices for my snacks there. Moreover, I like the atmosphere in Starbucks much more than McDonald's too.

 

I don't drink coffee but my dad does, and he seems to like their coffee. Every time he orders one he specifies the amount of creams and sugars that he wants to put in it himself. I asked him why he liked it that way and he said that he doesn't like it when the machine mixes it up. I like the hot chocolate that they make. The whip cream and the rich chocolate make for a sweet treat on cold days.

 

I prefer Dunkin Donuts coffee but I agree that McDonald's coffee is good as well. I was surprised by how good it tasted too because I wasn't expecting much for something relatively cheap, but I suppose all their other items on the menu is good too so I probably shouldn't be too surprised. I also like that their coffee goes great with the food in their breakfast menu.

 

I don't know how they compare as black coffee. McDonald's coffee has been useful, which makes it good. It provides an adequate energy boost. I tend to drink their coffee very early in the morning, or very late at night. I drink both McDonald's and Dunkin Donuts coffee while sitting down, because I don't like carrying around my coffee cup with me through the day. I guess I'm just not used to drinking coffee while walking.

 

I admit McDonald's coffee tastes good and not so expensive. But like most people I know, I prefer Dunkin Donuts coffee to McDonald's. Dunkin's has a richer taste and aroma. It's not as bitter or as strong either. McDo's black coffee induces palpitations and nervousness (in my case at least). Maybe if I get used to their coffee, I'd stop having palpitations and nerve issues.

 

We used to have a lot of Dunkin Donuts around here but a couple of them shut down during the great recession (around 2008-2009) so it's a little harder for me to make it to Dunkin Donuts as much as I would like these days. I had some McDonald's coffee earlier this morning, and while it was good it made me realize that I miss Dunkin Donuts coffee a lot. It's just richer and higher quality in my opinion. Can't beat the McDonalds prices though.

 

I am a bit of a coffee aficionado. I would just like to point out that just because people work at Starbucks does not make them coffee experts. And the fact that they bought coffee at the dollar store could just mean that they are cheap/broke, and may have no reflection on the quality of the coffee whatsoever. That being said, I am not a coffee snob. I say drink the coffee that you enjoy. My boss spends $50 a month on a special fancy coffee subscription that gets delivered to his door. I think that is excessive for coffee, but it's not up to me to judge. For me, I like finding good coffee for a good price. I could save money by drinking Folgers, but I know I won't enjoy it, so I would actually be wasting money. In the end, we all must do what makes us happy.

 

I love coffee, and I will buy it wherever I can. McDonald's coffee is on my top three of places to go to for good coffee. Also, their cold caffeine drink variations (aka smoothies) have great-tasting flavors that I can't keep away from. I can't deny the fact that the prices are a lot more affordable at this fast food joint, but just the aroma of their coffee is definitely worth every penny spent in purchasing it.

I heard that in some parts of Europe, McDonald's has an app where it lets you digitally keep track of the coffee you have purchased, and the fifth cup is usually free. You just scan the receipt with your smart phone and the data gets downloaded to the app. Affordable coffee prices and the fifth cup for free, I'm definitely liking McDonald's coffee!

 

I LOVE THE COFFEE! and have you tried the Oatmeal cookies that they have? Oh my gosh! I have been eating their cookies for almost a year now, every week! It's crazy! I know that the cookies are full of sugar but boy! they are really good, plus, I haven't heard cookies causing sickness right? lol, I'm eating away! McDonalds is doing really well! I love them.

 

Personally, I've never really liked the coffee from McDonalds. I love their burgers and fries, but the coffee? No. I think the taste is just too strong for me and even if I put in a lot of creamer in it, the odd taste is still there. I don't know, maybe it's just not my preference.

 

How do you know that the coffee was for the restaurant?
Maybe they were people who worked at Starbucks buying coffee for themselves after work.
Starbucks makes their own coffee. I doubt that they are putting coffee from Dollar Tree into Starbucks packaging.
Someone would have found out by now and it would be a national scandal.

 

I'm another UK fan. The beans are freshly ground and the price cannot be beaten. I'm not keen on the latte, it's too weak for my tastes but the regular white coffee tastes good and is fantastic value, especially when you consider the collector cards.

 

Often times in my area you can get a large coffee at McDonald's for $1. It's a pretty good bang for the buck. The same thing would cost almost $3 at Starbucks. So that's really been saving me some money lately, as they've had the special going on pretty often here lately. The difference in taste is not much.

Having said that, coffee drinking is different in Portugal.
We don't drink from plastic cups, and we don't want our coffee to go...

 

For many years I was a loyal Tim Horton's coffee drinker, but recently I discovered McDonalds coffee, and I was pleasantly surprised. The taste is rich, smooth and satisfying. With that, I would place each brew on an equal scale. Although McDonald's a little Cheeper and you get those value cards, Tim Horton's have roll up the rim. Therefore, I am happy with both.

 

You are right, Lemony! There is a loyalty scheme with coffee in McDonalds in the UK. I use the card system. You tear a sticker off the side of the coffee cup and stick it on a card, then hand it in when you have six stickers to get a free coffee. I haven't heard about the app, I'll have to check that out.
I love the cappuccino in McD's but have it with a meal deal - usually a chicken legend medium meal. The only thing I don't like is that you get a wooden stick not a spoon so I can't spoon up the froth at the end!
