My mother needs nothing and flowers aren't practical because she starts into her summer mode at the cabin a week later. For my mom, plants for her to put in her garden are the thing to get for mother's day. Either that or some other garden related items. I would far rather get her something she can enjoy for the summer than flowers which she will enjoy for a few days but have to get rid of shortly thereafter. When it comes to gifts for mother's day, we all know what is suitable and what is not. The most important thing is to remember you have a mother and at the very least, call her if you are able.
