    If you are a fan of the rich, creamy, tangy flavor of buttermilk, the here is a money-saving tip for you:

    In a clean, 1 quart mason jar, pour about 1 cup buttermilk in the bottom. Filling the rest with milk (we use whole milk). Cap the jar tightly and shake vigorously for 60 seconds or so. Set it out at room temp in a warmer area of The House. Let it sit there for 24 hours. Then refrigerate. You now have a homemade jar of delicious buttermilk. Bulgarian works for a starter as well. Save the last cup in the jar, to make your next batch!
