Nice pet presents for a 12 year old?

    I have a grow-a-frog, and have had triops, and my 11 year old brother is turning 12 this year. I would like to get him some sort of pet to keep him off his games for maybe 5 minutes each day.. LOL (he is obsessed with games.) Anyway, what kind of pet would you reccomend that would give him something to do?

    As for the original question, I would talk to your brother first. You need to find out if he even WANTS a pet because if he doesn't, he's unlikely to care for it properly and it would just die. Or he may really, really want a certain kind of pet and a different one would be a disappointment.

    Those triops look absolutely badass! I want some now, they look like prehistoric trilobites!
