Perhaps buy gifts for next year now?

    I rarely do this, only if it's something I know they will definitely want several months from now. If I'm on vacation or travelling and see something I won't be able to get back home that they would want I will get those too. You never know what the future holds, and could get stuck with stuff. What if you bought them some clothes and they gain/loose weight and no longer fit into them for example?

    I did that last year for my parents' birthdays, which I had bought their presents for two years. I sometimes can't think of anything to buy for them because they aren't really into the whole present thing.

    The holidays are upon us again. I think I will try this in 2013. I always get a little flustered in February, especially. I have 2 nephews and 2 sisters born in Februray.

    I don't buy presents ahead of time. I don't have the space or room to store them. If for some reason I do buy the presents early, I forget that I bought them when the event comes around.
