I've never really been that great with plants. I'm told that I have a black thumb rather than a green thumb. Since I got a plant for Valentine's Day, I'm hoping I can keep it alive, lol. It suggests "feeding your plant as well as watering." I know they have those plant food sticks, but it's a very small plant. Should I just use part of one or does anyone have a suggestion for something else to use instead? I appreciate all suggestions.

What plants need to grow well:

    A lot of sunlight.
    Fertile soil.
    Water.

Fertile soil provides the plant all the nutrients it needs but since there's no guarantee that the soil in which your plant is growing in is fertile, you'll need to "feed it." I would recommend organic manure because . . . well, it's better. However if you can't get organic manure, you can just make your own using food scraps.
