Not only they are obsolete some of them buries the newer discussions with deals far from expiring and it also made some members lazy to make new discussions because they rather bump a 5 year old discussion from 2015. It is Very unfair for people who makes new discussions and their discussions got buried by some dated discussion.

    DON'T MIND THEM.

Your post is already 3-month old and nobody has reacted on this and even the admin. We are tasked on what we want to comment, to react or to post for a discussion. I think it is beyond our concern to control those who want to react to a certain old posts. Nobody, of course, cares about this. There is no rule that the members are prohibited or even discouraged not to mind those old threads.

Let's leave to the discretion of the admin on what to do with those old threads. It's good for you every time you come in here you post new thread or do something with the recent ones.

In my case, I always go over what is appropriate for me to comment especially with that concern which I have a background and experience so that I could perfectly share my ideas for others to be benefit from.

This is my unsolicited advice. Never mind them. Do what is pleased for you.

I mind them because it is annoying to see a discussion from 2012 that is originally from the page 5 getting more attention than a discussion from 2015. How will this community grow if people lives in the past. In other forums, ancient threads locks old threads because they harm new threads.

I don't see a practical reason behind such an action. If a thread is useful or if a person needs an information, too many locked threads will block the good intentions.
The people are also free to discuss anything they find useful or interesting.
It doesn't mean if a discussion is brand new that it will interest me at all.

So sad this has been touched anew. Anyway I agree with you. Old threads may serve as reference for latest trends. History has preserved the past and it works for the present and even for the future.

@Nakitakona@Nakitakona I think that everybody should have the equal opportunity to attract comments, even the old threads.
If I fail to see the relevance of the new things or if I don't understand the new trends, it is really only my fault but then I will turn to something I know even if it is 100 years old.
    LOL

I always do a search if I want to start a new thread and quite often an old one will appear. I don't think it makes much difference how old they are and some of that old information could be quite valuable because everyone has different ideas and opinions.

It would take a lot of time for admin to decide which threads should go and which should stay so I think it's best left as it is.

@littlewitch66@littlewitch66 I prefer commenting on a thread creation because for me it is much easier, and I really don't know what would people like to see as a thread.
I don't have much preference when it comes to commenting either. For me, anything goes.
But, creating a new thread seems to be a thing of a prestige for some people.

@annitha@annitha Oh gosh is that how it looks?! I really don't feel that way. I just start new threads because I think it adds a bit more variety to the forum. I don't think of it as a prestige thing . I'm embarrassed now.

It's true some people start new threads because of 'prestige' some do it because they are lazy and too many duplicate threads are a bit of a headache for an admin to merge. Having had my own forum it's additional work one doesn't need. Why lock a thread when someone may want to quote something or add to it? It also discourages people from making multiple threads on the same topic.

Naturally sometimes people will miss things especially when the header isn't obvious or if there is a typo, but there are some old threads of mine that are still relevant. Maybe the time sensitive offers one should be locked such as Black Friday ones?

@Nakitakona@Nakitakona Exactly, old threads serve as a great reference for latest trends as well as provide valuable information and input on various topics.

People are bumping threads of expired promos, how the hell those threads are helpful? It might fool people to register on a promo that don't exist anymore.

@Beast_Titan@Beast_Titan That is a completely another thing.
If the promo is over, it should be closed in time and not left open.
I was stating the antics that could be useful, not a reward games from 2009 lol.
    Good point!

I agree with this. I actually check the date of the post before commenting. I don't see how information from threads of 2013 will be of any relevance to today. Agreed some of the thread topics are great but a lot has changed between then and now. Also, I have noticed that some certain individuals who are specialist in thread creation. They don't comment on threads, but rather prefer to open a string of threads.
