I have visited many exotic hotels with very expensive meals. However, I also noted that their quantity for such expensive dishes are way far lesser than the same item in any cheaper restaurant.

I am a good eater so I find this really very inconvenient. Have you notice such a thing?

I resort to going to a decent cheaper restaurant where I know the quantity will suffice my apetite.

Whether local or abroad, we only dine in the hotel’s restaurant for the buffet (or eat-all-you-can deal) because it is also noticeable that the volume is for petite eating only. Late last year when we booked in Sofitel Hotel in Manila, we ordered pastries for a mid-afternoon snack. It was like the 2 orders (for me and my wife) is only good for one person huh. On the other hand, we availed of the hotel’s dinner buffet at $40 and I’d say it’s worth it because of the quality dishes like steak, seafood, roasted pig, etc. There were more than 50 dishes to choose from.
