I need a good deal on phone service. Talk, text and web. Nothing too crazy but the service needs to be priced well and actually work.

I don't know what your budget is, but I have a prepaid plan from Verizon. It costs $50 a month. It is a 3G network, but if you don't care about that, you will have solid service and there are some nice smartphones with that plan. Good luck in finding what you are looking for.

I bought one one time because my phone and luggage got lost at an airport and it was 2am and I needed to leave a message with my employer and call my taxi driver to let him know what happened. It was just a basic one, not a smart phone. It's not my main phone, but I still bring it with me on trips as a backup since the battery on it lasts for days. The one I got however was dirt cheap, it was only like $20 and that included the cost of the phone itself. You just prepay some minutes, not a monthly fee.

Well, I have always found that the prepaid phones are a waste of money because you usually tend to go over the allotted minutes, text messages, etc. My fiancee once had a prepaid phone and she kept buying, buying and buying minutes. Now she has a plan where she spends $29 per month with unlimited texting, unlimited talk and unlimited data. It's great. That's my suggestion!

Many prepaid phones now have a flat fee for unlimited talk, text and web. It really depends on where you live and what type of reception you'll get with the wireless network. Kayhill mentioned Verizon has $50 flat fee, so does T-Mobile. Virgin Mobile uses the Sprint Network and is very reasonable. I have them, but I don't have unlimited minutes. I barely use up my 300 allotted minutes. Boost Mobile also has a reasonably priced plan and I think they are also on Sprint, but don't quote me on that. Oh, and Walmart has Straight Talk too.

You should get a prepaid phone with a front facing camera, and just use the Skype service. There prices are a lot lower than using a prepaid phone company, and you'll have access to the video chat feature. You can call landlines and mobile phones for just $25 for 3 months service. There's a deal going on right now, so you can get it while it's hot.

I saw a commercial about prepaid phones at Wal Mart- they would probably have a wide assortment of phones and some good deals. I've also talked to people who have gotten a prepaid phone at Wal Mart.AT&T has a pre paid phone that has no contract, credit check or deposit-it's called the GoPhone- you might check it out.

I am currently using Virgin Mobile. It uses Sprint networks at a fraction of the cost. You are able to get quality phones on a quality network for anywhere from $35-$55 a month. I think they are the best pre-paid option as of right now.
