Especially in what concerns TV and internet there is a lot of competition, so the companies are more and more willing to renegotiate the contracts we have. In fact, I've cut my TV+net bill a few times just by playing hard-ball with them, saying I'd move to the competition and the make up some promotions. Have you tried this?

Yes I have, and it does work. Unfortunately some people live where they don't have any competition for a service and they can't utilize that tactic.

That's true, but for the majority of people living in the cities it's possible and we do save. Don't act as you just want a discount, call them to tell you want to cancel the service and they will redirect you to a department that cuts your bill, pretty neat. ;)
