In my rural area that's the only type aside from dial-up (massively slow). However, though, it's good for most things. In fact, some of the only problems are when your working with an FTP or doing online gaming. Also, you cannot use those free phones (MagicJack) which connect to your computer. Anyway, as far as savings and value are concerned, I wouldn't advise satellite unless you have to get it. Many of the other types are way faster.
