Whether you live in an apartment or a duplex or house, consider your daily habits. I do have a yard, so I dug a humus pit (where I discard kitchen scraps, coffee grounds, leaves, paper, etc.) and produce great soil for my garden. I also recycle all cans and bottles, either for the cash back or the ones that do not have a redemption value go in the recycle bins provided with my trash service. I put out buckets to save rain water for my plants. Even if you live in an apartment, a patio or balcony can be used to grow container plants (or the hanging types) and you can grow vegetables, berries and even herbs in planters. All of this is good for the earth and you can actually grow some of your own organic healthy food. Do you do any of these things at your home?
