Vacationing in Walt Disney World in Florida can be a great trip in more than one way - great fun and yet a great burden on the wallet. But a Disney World trip doesn't necessarily have to put you in a major financial bind if you're careful and take advantage of various online deals and specials and also play it smart while you're there. For instance, there are online help sites such as Mousesavers that will provide the current deals in place for vacationing there, or they'll provide the various codes that bring out other discounts that can be applied and save you quite a bit of money in the long run. While many people prefer to stay on-site at Disney World so as to be immersed in the experience, others are willing to stay at nearby, just-outside hotels that offer substantial savings on nightly room rates, park tickets, AND offer free hotel shuttles to and from Disney. When comparing the room rates at these places with the rates at even the "value" resorts on Disney property, you can see where you can truly save a pretty penny. However, if you do purchase a vacation package and stay on-property at Disney, be aware that there are usually some good deals to be found by planning your trip at particular times of the year. For instance, my wife and I used to go primarily in September, which would be right in the time of availability of a vacation package that would include the Disney Dining Plan (normally having to be purchased) for free. This saved us a good deal of money for our meals at Disney World, not to mention saving us the extra money on the vacation package itself.

Another option for saving money at Disney would be to stop at the nearby Walmart and purchase bottled water there and just bring it with you to the parks. Yes, security does do bag checks at each park, but your bottled water is not something they're after. Also, you can bring in snack bars or other little items that you can eat throughout the day that will save you from spending on overpriced snack options in the parks.

Are there any other things you do or have heard done by others that save money while enjoying a Disney World vacation?

Well, you have pretty much covered the best ways to save on your trip. Some others of how to save money would be to go during value season, stay in a value resort, take advantage of the special offers on the Disney World website (they always have some type of special offer going on), purchase a dining plan (this will save you money on food). You can drive there to save money on plane tickets, or, if you are going to fly, make sure to fly on a low-fare airline that flies into Orlando International Airport because Disney's Magical Express will pick you up from that airport for free, and take you back for your return flight for free--not to mention there is free transportation throughout Walt Disney World Resort--and you will save money by not having to rent a car/pay for gas.

Yeah, get all your groceries (snacks) at retail. Quick home packed lunches are also nice way to save money. A couple of PB&J sandwiches with an apple is quite a solid lunch. Snack throughout the day to keep yourself full.

I guess you have covered many areas to save money while going to Walt Disney, but if you have good budget, then saving is not complusory, beacuse it is the best place to visit.
