I took the family to The Avengers this weekend. I buy my tickets through an iPhone app but also joined up for a free service called "Scene". They give you points for buying tickets and points for buying food at the movies that you can put towards free tickets. They also give you an nice little 10% off at the concessions stands which is a nice perk. I just have to show my iPhone app at the movies for the discount and order tickets through my app. They are also sending a card in the mail so the rest of my family can use it when they go to the movies. I am in Canada but you might want to check and see if your movie theatre has a points program.
