The scholastic book fair comes to my child's school at least once a year. There are usually at least a few books that you can get for five dollars are less.It makes my children feel special to send them to school with a bit of money and let them pick out there own book. I dont really mind them buying a book because it encourages them to read which is a good thing.
Both my two daughters were actually saving up for this event (they also have one at their school every year). I'm just happy that they like to read books (and actually collect books). I like hearing about their lexile points and target number of books to read for a specific school term. I really commend the Scholastic "guys" and the teachers at my kids' school for coming up with activities that can get a child interested in books. I don't like reading books when I was younger, it is only now that I appreciate the joys of reading a book. So I'm really glad that my kids started to like books at their early age.
