I know this is a bit ironic to post something like this on a site about saving money, but one thing I will splurge on are Shure Earbuds. I've been through a couple of pairs of these over the years, mainly because I wore them out from such heavy use. But the sound quality on them is absolutely amazing. They're around $200 - $250 a pair, which I know sounds crazy. However from the first time I started using them, I just wanted to go through my whole mp3 collection and listen to everything again to experience them through these. The sound quality on them is so clear and distortion free, that you can actually notice the shortcomings of the device they're plugged into itself. For example, I could hear a slight hiss in the background when I plugged them into my computer. Turns out unless you upgraded to a higher end sound card, most cheap or built in ones in computers aren't properly shielded and it's common to hear this hiss. A very simple fix for this is to get a USB audio plug adapter, they're like $15 and much cheaper than buying and installing a higher end sound card, and they get rid of the hiss completely. My only gripe with the headphones is, as I said, they wear out. Mainly the wires themselves. I wear them in the wrap the wire around the back of your ear then insert the earbud manner. After a while the wires will start to crack open from heavy use causing the audio to cut out. However, I noticed some of their newer models have detachable wires which you can replace, which is a great idea.
These gadgets are very expensive and so hardware dependent! Aren't there any places where one can get discount on the gadgets?
Man...that's a bit spendy for some earbuds. I would not be able to afford that since I go through a lot of them. This year alone, I think I've gone through six pairs of earbuds already. That's partially my dog's fault though, he likes to chew on them.
I think that's a good investment. True, we felt a bit shocked to spend that money on something as simple as an earbud, but it is an investment that pays off in the short term. I don't know particularly that brand, but I am aware that in the current market there are a lot of similar products. We just have to enter Ebay or any online store, to see the difference between those headphones only cost less than 50 dollars and those that exceed $ 100. Obviously there is a technical difference, and at the time that we tested, when we account for the benefits. The sound quality is usually superlative. However, before investing that money in a pair of headphones is necessary to consider the use we are going to give. Maybe, if we are lovers of good music, is a worthwhile purchase.
I don't know about shure headphones, but their mics are high quality, so I think it's a pretty safe assumption that their headphones would be as well. It sure beats the hell out of beats by dre and skullcandy. If you're really particular about high quality music and/or a musician, splurging on high quality headphones is inevitable.
That's quite expensive for a pair of earphones, the Sony earphones that I bought was only $10, but it lasted for 6 years under frequent use, and if it weren't chewed on by my dog, then it would have lasted much longer. But when I have money to spare on buying expensive earphones, then I'll try that Shure brand that you're talking about. Lets see if I will form the same opinion.
