If you plan on going to Gatlinburg, then you need to look at the Sidney James. This location is off of the main drag, so you can sleep, but it is close enough to everything you can walk or catch the trolley. Then you can be in town in no time flat. Not only that if you are in town and have a map you can use it to find some of the quick shortcuts to get into the park in a matter of minutes!
Waynefire! Sidney James Lodge is very nice place. I stayed there for a night. I have not a long experience there but personally I spent my night very peacefully and done my breakfast quickly because I had to reach on my next destination. Otherwise the staff and all services were good and the breakfast was also yummy. It was not very close to the Gatlinburg but it was not a big deal.
