slice the pie dot com is a website that you can go to if you want to earn some extra money. They do pay. however, you have to jump through many hoops to get that payment. They rate music. You have to listen to clips of music and then offer your rating on the clip. but you have to write a whole bunch of different things. If you write something similar to what you wrote before, if most likely will not get accepted. you have to be pretty much a very well creative kind of writer. Like I said, they do pay, but you have to be a pretty creative kind of writer for them. go to slicethepie dot com
I've stopped using them because I felt it got tedious having to do all those creative, insightful and in-depth reviews on all those songs, some of which just sound generic. Plus you have to pretty much examine the music in and out and help them decide if it has any quality when it comes to pitch, tone, melody, vocals and potential to get the vocal artist signed to a record label. I never participated long enough to get paid but people have went on to cashout from there. Don't think I'll go back to using it.
I used to use SliceThePie all the time, but I got kicked out for some weird internet things that they said I had on and wouldn't let me correct the mistake before closing my account for good. I had a $8.00 in the account too, which if you ever used Slicethepie, you know that takes awhile to accumulate that much profit. So I don't have a very high opinion of SlicethePie. It's a lot of work for very little profit and I've had a bad experience with dealing with their customer service.
I've been having a pretty good experience with them, but yes, it does take a really long time to accumulate some profits. I try to do a few songs a day, and got a few friends to sign up, so am around $13. I figure I'll try to do it for a few months, make around $50, and it'll seem like a nice little extra money then. I only do it during commercials while watching tv and start writing as soon as the song starts so really don't think it takes that long. I've only had one review come back that it was too similar to another review. But yes, after awhile the songs all start sounding very similar and it's difficult to think of something new to say.
I tried it for a week, but I rarely got songs to rate and it was never a constant stream. On the first day I got none, on the second day one and then 1 or 2 the other day. I figured it was going to take forever to get to the minimum payout and writing a good review takes time so it's not worth what they pay.
That's why I left this. $50 in a few months sound kinda good but there are other ways to make money online and right now I can make about $250 - $300 a month.
I think the pay per song review is too low for the amount of good quality writing that they want you to do. 5 cents for a well written paragraph about a crappy song is too much work. I've been paid out 3 times by them, but it was hard to get to that payout amount.
When I first heard of slice-the-pie I thought it would be a great way to make a little extra cash. Normally before registering on a site, I read all the rules and nestled somewhere in those boring paragraphs was something I didn't like and I didn't bother completing the registration. Why would I want to waste my time writing a review and then someone 'at their discretion' decides the review is not original, good enough and so on? I warned one lady and she ignored my warnings. A few months later she was complaining about having been 'defrauded' . . .
I was never able to register to the site since my country doesn't seem to be allowed. Now after reading the comments, I guess joining the site is not very profitable, so it's not really much of a loss for me.
This sounds like the sort of site I would keep away from. I have heard of them before. I know the amount of time you have to spend doing things before you earn any money is pretty bad. I would consider it a waste of time unless it is something that you really enjoy doing.
