It would depend more on if you're using it while you're out. Because if you're outside the wifi rang, then you won't be able to use your tablet. The only way you can use the tablet though the LTE is if you buy a plan. Another thing is that the tablet might be kind of annoying to carry around. The smallest one that I know of is the iPad mini, which I have and I would hate to carry that around all the time. So, I would say that you should get a phone.

Tablets, I can't stand small screens. Also tablets are more powerfull, for my phone needs I prefer the good old dumb mobiles without touch screen and other newfangled stuff instead.

I have never specifically wanted an Ipad, and then I looked into them and their prices when I was earning well about a year ago, with nothing to spend my money on. But once I saw the price, I was like hell no!! I am not paying that much just for the fact that it was made by Apple. Not when there are other tablets that will do more or less the same thing as an Ipad for less money.

Hehe @DreekLass@DreekLass, I feel you! I also wouldn't just buy something for such trivial reasons. These devices cost a lot of money, and I'd only ever buy an iPad if I had a lot of money to spare. I wouldn't want to spend the next few months on a beans on toast diet LOL I think it's very attractive to me because we have quite a few Apple products and I like the idea of syncing everything across the devices. Based on the current state of my finances, I'll probably hang onto my KindleFire for a while longer anyway LOL The iPad will remain just that; wishful thinking **deep sigh**.

I think a phone would be better, since I find the tablet too bulky. Besides, a phone has more uses than a tablet, since I really think it's awkward to take calls using a tablet. So I think you're better off buying a phone.

I'd say that a smart phone with a good sized screen would do a good job taking pictures, videos, and offering chat opportunities via whatsapp or other handy applications. In my opinion it's a lot more practical than a tablet for the kind of activities that you have in mind.
I bought myself a tablet about two years ago, and I hardly ever use it. I prefer to lie in bed and just read the latest on my phone.

Depends on your need. Do you surf a lot on the go? If you want it primarily to surf the web at home, I guess a tablet is always a better option. Just hook it up to your WiFi and save money as you don't need a data plan. Personally, I find it awkward to take pictures with a tablet though.

It does depend on what you use it for as I found some apps can only be downloaded on smartphones and not tablets, and that can be a pain. I also think phones are quicker and easier to charge if you do use up power quite fast and tablets can drain much faster depending on what you have open.

If you use WhatsApp then a phone is a better choice I feel, but if you do read e-books, then a tablet would be more suitable.
