Does anyone own a SodaStream? It's a soda water maker, but with flavoring, you can make pop/flavored soda. I've been considering investing in one for a long time. My significant other loves fizzy water. It gets expensive really quickly to be continually buying it from the store, not to mention the number of resources that go into production of mineral water/soda. Wouldn't it be cool to make at home? I've read some of the reviews online. The machines range in price from affordable to outrageous. I'd love to hear whether anyone has firsthand experience with this. It might be the perfect Christmas present this year!

I had it, and really didn't care for it to be honest. All of their syrups, both the diet and the regular, use Splenda. None of them taste exactly like their real counterparts, they all have a slightly "off" taste to them. And the water never seemed to get as carbonated as the soda you buy in the store, plus it goes flat really fast for some reason. If you have any pets, it can also disturb them because it's really loud when you press the button on it. It's pretty over priced too considering that all it is is a plastic stand with a release valve on it, and they're charging like $100+ for it.
